Destiny, the young lady, said that she had lost her spouse five days before their wedding anniversary. She went on to say that her husband was murdered while she was three months pregnant. Destiny described her husband’s murder, saying he had just returned from Onitsha Market, where he had gone to buy medications and gifts for their wedding anniversary. When he returned to her business, he informed her that he had heard that someone had been shot in the town.
She stated that her husband returned to her business at 8 p.m. and instructed her to bring out the money she had earned. She stated that two odd males entered her business after she had handled the money for him. She stated they didn’t appear to be there to buy anything based on their looks. When she saw them, she stated her husband ran away, and they chased after him. She stated that she followed them until they were able to apprehend her husband. She claimed they began assaulting him and one of them pulled out a revolver.
Destiny was unsure whether they were attempting to shoot her or her spouse. They later aimed the rifle at her husband. She claimed she tried to stop them, but they pushed her back, causing her to collapse on her stomach.
When they ran out of ammunition, Destiny said they began hacking him with a machete. Everyone departed after they were finished. She said she summoned assistance to transport him to a general hospital, but he was transferred to the Federal Medical Centre for treatment, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Destiny claims her in-laws have been mistreating her since her spouse died. She said they stole medications worth over N8 million from her pharmacy, sold her husband’s car, and drove her away from her husband’s home.

Her late husband’s elder brother also attempted to sleep with her. He wants her to bear children for him, and he even proposed to marry her as his second wife, but she declined.
“My husband’s elder brother asked me to be his second wife. When he said it at first, I thought it was a joke because I always take it as a joke. I never knew he was serious about it until sometime he would come and tell me he is going to rent an apartment for me.”
“I will leave my husband’s house and live in his house and after I have given birth, I will start producing children for him. I will laugh. I didn’t know he was serious about it”.
She said after she rejected the proposal, her mother-in-law threatened to make her regret her choice. She said she has been suffering since then as they took everything away from her.
