Thabo Bester and Nandipha Magudumana made quite a commotion in court on Tuesday morning. Nandipha’s body language upon Thabo’s appearance in court, as shown in social media footage, implies that they are both head over heals in love.

In court, the two clasped hands, smiled, chatted, and made love gestures. Several social media users believe Dr. Nandipha was intimidated by Thabo to become his partner in crime. The two lovers were apprehended in Tanzania many months ago.

Thabo Bester’s murder and rape conviction has been postponed until October 11 for further investigation.
Bester appeared physically in court for the first time on Tuesday morning, alongside his eleven co-accused, including his suspected major collaborator Nandipha Magudumana.

He put on a show in court, laughing wildly with one of the guys accused of aiding him in his daring jail escape last year. Bester approached the dock on Tuesday morning, well groomed and comfortable, in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court, where 11 of his co-accused were already sitting.

He smiled coyly at his claimed major collaborator and sweetheart, Magudumana, as he sat down next to her, seeing her for the first time since their arrest in Tanzania in April. Bester then went to greet former G4S employee Buti Masukela, and the two burst out laughing.

The family of Katlego Bereng, whose body was illegally claimed from a mortuary, brought into jail, and set alight in Bester’s cell, was among those watching Bester and Masukela laugh. The case against Bester and his 11 co-accused has been postponed pending the completion of final investigations.

Bester’s lawyer alleged that he was treated inhumanely while imprisoned in Pretoria’s Kgosi Mampuru Prison. He said that Bester is shackled in his cell for 23 hours a day.

He also claimed that some items went missing after Bester’s detention in Tanzania. Cash in rands, dollars, Swiss francs, telephones, computers, high-end watches, sunglasses, and a wedding band are among the valuables worth in the millions of rands.
