Stained Glass Productions, co-owned by Kobedi “Pepsi” Pokane and Gugu Zuma-Ncube, produces the South African soap opera Uzalo. It premiered in 2015 and quickly became a hit thanks to its compelling narrative, writing, direction, and performances by the relatively unknown cast. It initially told the story of two young men who were switched at birth, one raised in a Christian family and the other in a criminal syndicate. It is currently broadcast on SABC 1 from Monday to Friday. It is currently South Africa’s most-watched television show.
