Charmaine Mtinta is a South African actress who rose to prominence in 1999 as Nomsa in the first season of the SABC1 drama series Yizo Yizo. For her role, she received the Avanti Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
Charmaine Mtinta was born in Gugulethu on July 20, 1972. The actress is most known for her role as Nomsa on Yizo Yizo. On Yizo Yizo, she also received an award for Best Actress. The drama series ran from 1999 to 2004.
She considered acting as a job because most people asked her what she did other from performing. She also participated in Gauteng Maboneng as Pearl in 2011, Inkaba as Aunt Lizzie in 2012-2013, Generations, Lost Link, and other drama series. She is not only a fan of jazz music, but she also studied music, mainly jazz, at East Side College. “I have a tremendous love for jazz.” Nonetheless, I went on to study acting at Indigo View Actors School. That helped shape me into the actor I am today.”

Charmaine likes yoga in the morning for a daily stretch. “I am a yogi; do not be deceived by my physique.” It’s simply water weight.” She also enjoys experimenting with essential oils. “One of my hobbies is combining oils and plants.” I also use these to experiment in the kitchen. Anything natural appeals to me. Whenever someone becomes sick, I utilise natural items from my pantry.”
Although most people enjoy drinking coffee, she loves tea. “I have every imaginable flavour under the sun.”
In the year 2021, she landed a position as Zungazi in River Season 4; she plays the character. Mzansi Magic broadcasts the drama series. This year, 2023, she landed a major part in the TV serial soap Smoke and Mirrors, where she plays Nomeva as Sangoma. Her net worth is estimated to be between 1-2 million rands in 2023.
