It certainly appeared to be too good to be true, LOL! Mzansi was left wondering how the entrepreneur Shawn Mkhize, often known as MaMkhize, managed to get herself an honorary doctorate degree only a few days ago. This happened when Mamkhize came out to congratulate her parents and spoke about how happy they should be because both of their physicians are doing well. She said, “Call me Dr. President Mamkhize,” as she wore a scarlet graduation gown. She then updated her social media profile to reflect her new title.

However, it was revealed to MamKhize’s dismay that the Good Shepherd College of Religion, Culture, and Training is completely illegitimate: not only is it not registered, but it also lacks the authorization to give a Ph.D. degree in philosophy, which MamKhize acquired. “Kindly note that the Good Shepherd College of Religion and Training is not registered with the Department as a private higher education institution. We are currently investigating,” the DHET

Nzimande is claimed to be worried about recent reports of fraudulent colleges giving honorary doctorates to unwary persons, with a particular focus on local celebrities.

He also advised the public to visit the Department of Higher Education and Training’s website, www.dhet.gov.za, to search up the Registers of Private Higher Institutions and Private Colleges.
