South Africans are praising a brave petrol attendant who risked his life to save passengers from a raging cab fire at a service station.
Car Trackers shared a video of the near-tragic event recorded by user Peche Africa.
The specific location of the occurrence is unknown because the video of the shaking incident was retrieved from Surveillance footage. Based on the van’s registration plates, the Citizen speculated that it may have burned down in Gauteng.
A taxi recently stopped at a petrol station to refuel before resuming its journey at around half capacity. The driver disconnected the handbrakes when one of the attendants got money from the Toyota Hiace, and the car inched back then slightly forward before coming to a stop.
When he attempted to move the cab, a ball of flames burst beneath it, driving the occupants into a frenzy.
The two passengers in the front were desperately trying to get out of the burning trap, but the doors would not open. A braze poured into the front of the vehicle from beneath in a matter of seconds, and one passenger was forced to push open the front door.
